Koala Survey Oct 2006
Claudine and Mary joined David for a quick check for koalas in the eucalypt forest between Bremner Rd and Chelsea St this morning. The visit was quick because recent showers have seriously increased the mosquito population in the area.
The group randomly followed tracks and found two adult koalas, one with a juvenile on its back and more than 10 kangaroos and wallabies in three different locations. The map below shows where the koalas and roos were sighted.

One koala was sighted within metres of the rear of Bunnings warehouse just as the group were about to retrieve their vehicles. Shots of the koalas are included below.

It's like a case of 'Where's Wally?'
One thing which did dismay the group was the amount of rubbish in the area particularly close to Bremner Rd. Looks like REF might need to have a large clean-up project for this area.
